With the release of Blue and Lonesome in December 2016, The Stones return to their blues and R&B beginnings. The First album, The Rolling Stones, came out in 1964 when they were just another British blues band competing with The Yardbirds and John Mayall's Blues Breakers among many others. They were good but still a long way from becoming "The world's greatest rock and roll band" as they were later dubbed. Although originally led by the late Brian Jones, Mick Jagger became the face of the band and Keith Richard tore off catchy riffs that propelled the band into becoming a pop music phenomenon and they quickly took America by storm. They are still with us and don't seem ready to leave us anytime soon.
