AFI, which either stands for Asking For It, A bunch of F*****g Idiots, Anthems for Insubordinates, or A Fire Inside (depending on when you ask) was born out of California’s East Bay hardcore punk rock scene. Fronted by punk rock’s resident sweetheart, Davey Havok, AFI grew from a small, Halloween-centric punk band with a cult following to exploding onto the mainstream with 2003’s Sing the Sorrow, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and remained on the chart for almost a full year. Their follow-up, 2006’s Decemberunderground, took them to even further success, debuting at No. 1 on the charts. AFI has released ten studio albums and ten EPs over their decades-long career, most recently releasing The Missing Man EP in 2018.
