NOFX, unlike many of its punk music peers, never signed with a major label. They still managed to sell over eight million albums worldwide to become one of the most successful truly independent bands in history. Influenced by bands that pushed the boundaries like Bad Religion, Rich Kids on LSD, and the Dead Milkmen, they are still going strong with their mix of hardcore punk, satire, Ska, and melodic hardcore.
