Taking their name from a 1972 martial arts film, Las Vegas metal band, Five Finger Death Punch formed in 2005 and quickly became one of the biggest names in modern metal music. Their debut album, 2007’s The Way of the Fist, sold over 500,000 copies in the United States, an impressive feat for a relatively underground band. Capitalizing on a successful debut, their 2009 follow-up album, War is the Answer, exploded to an even higher level of success, selling over 1,000,000 records and being certified Platinum. Five Finger Death Punch has had numerous Gold albums as well, making them one of the most successful metal bands of the 2000s. Alongside bands such as Disturbed and Stone Sour, Five Finger Death Punch helped to cultivate the modern heavy metal scene, most recently releasing And Justice for None in 2018.
