Circle Jerks is an American hardcore punk rock band formed by former Black Flag vocalist Keith Morris and Redd Kross guitarist Greg Hetson. With their debut album, 1980’s Group Sex, the band cemented their place as one of the most important bands in the hardcore scene, alongside bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat. The band has gone through multiple breakups and hiatuses, mostly due to Hetson’s double duty as the guitarist for one of the most popular punk bands, Bad Religion. Circle Jerks most recently reformed in 2001 but by 2010 had decided to enter an indefinite hiatus. Regardless of the band’s inconsistent activity, they are still widely regarded as one of the best bands to come out of the punk rock scene with albums such as Group Sex and Golden Shower of Hits being held as staples of the genre.
