Avenged Sevenfold Releases “Breakdown Episodes” On YouTube

Avenged Sevenfold a heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, has recently revealed that they are in the studio working on a follow up to 2017’s The Stage. After vocalist M. Shadows spent the summer on vocal rest, the band has finally gotten the opportunity to get working on their next album, the second with drummer Brooks Wackerman.

In the meantime, Avenged Sevenfold has created a fascinating series of videos on their YouTube account. These videos, dubbed the “Breakdown Episodes,” feature various members of the band diving into to some of their older songs. They break the song down into each isolated track and expand on the why and how of each decision that went into the individual songs.

These videos give a great insight into the band and their history. Seeing guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance look back on the creation of some of their hit singles and talk about the good times had in the studio with such fondness is an experience that not a lot of bands provide. The openness that A7X displays to their fans through these Breakdown Episodes shows an absolute dedication to the people who support their music. It showcases a lot of previously unseen studio footage as well, making it feel like a time capsule and a time machine all at once.

Overall, these videos may only exist to provide fans with something to keep them occupied until the band has new music. But despite this, the videos are still entertaining, and it is interesting to see what makes up the songs that Avenged Sevenfold has created over their career as they look toward expanding on their impressive legacy in heavy metal history.
