You don’t earn the nickname “America’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” for no reason. After signing to Columbia Records in 1972, Aerosmith released a string of gold and platinum albums throughout the rest of the decade. After stumbling through the early 80s, Aerosmith returned to their previous success after their highly successful collaboration with hip-hop act Run-DMC in 1986 and the multi-platinum selling Permanent Vacation in 1987. Throughout the late 80s and 90s, the band had a string of extremely successful Top 20 singles, including a #1 single in 1998’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” The “Bad Boys from Boston” have cemented their place as the best-selling American rock band and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 2001.
